It is a perfect fit for the iPod classic, and the hole at the bottom is wide enough to let the cord through. I have a 7G iPod and 2009 Toyota Prius. I bought this since I like the iPod to be displayed when playing so I can see what's playing. Still, for the price ($4) it is not a bad purchase.
It would have been better for them to have lips around the horizontal arms to hold the ipod from falling. Instead I have to deal with the suction cup. The more serious issue is that the suction cup just doesn't work. Would have been better if I could fit the iPod with a case.
A combination of the small cup and the rubber sheath makes it fit snugly in one of my cup-holders. More adjustability in the width is needed. The iPod is connected through Kensington LiquidAUX. Before this I would let the iPod itself rest in the cupholder, but I didn't like its weight putting pressure on the connector cord, so this is obviously better. What I don't like: My cup holder is low, so I was hoping for more adjustability in the height.
It is also easy to pick up when I'm done and hide in the armrest. Overall it does the job. It is very stable.
The cradle is a tight fit for the iPhone if you have a iPhone case.2. It fits fine but if you try and put any other type of bottle/cup right next to it.
It's very annoying at times. It either doesn't fit or its very tight.
I own a Infiniti G35 Coupe. I don't know if it's just my car but i haven't had a chance to test it with other car cup holders.
I'm sure the cup holders are wider is larger in vehicles like sedans and SUV's.Overall the product is decent.I'd recommend it to someone but i'd double check their cup holder setup. I was looking for a Cup holder cradle for my iPhone 3G.1.
If you are going to be removing the device from the car often, you are gonna want to remove the suction cup that's attached to the cradle.3.
Reasonable price. Good product, works real well in the cup holder of the vehicle-Ipod or cell phone set real well in the holder. Turns at the base so you can direct it anyway you want.
It puts stress on the iPhone case, I don't recommend it for iPhone. Specification on iPod and iPhone are very similar in terms of the dimension.I purchased this thinking that it will fit iPhone 3G, while it does fit with the naked iPhone, if you have any type of case on it, it will NOT fit.I exacerbated the crack on my iPhone case using this dock.
Renders the suction cup virtually useless as well. I think this is a great product.as long as you're using anything other than an iPod Classic in a hard case. If you don't have a Classic, or don't mind taking your Classic out of your case every time you want to listen to music in the car, this is a good product. All they had to do was add a feature where the width could be adjusted.or at least make rubber sides instead of hard plastic. I have a 120gb classic with a plastic case (made by Belkin, ironically). The case barely adds any width to the iPod at all, but it's just enough where it doesn't fit, and it feels like the sides are going to snap off.
